Consensual sex between same-sex couples is unlawful [R1.1].


Penal Code of 1984 [R1.1]

ART. 308. – All adult muslim men who commit an impudent act against nature with an individual of his sex will face the penalty of death by public stoning. If it is a question of two women, they will be punished as prescribed in article 306, first paragraph [R1.1].

ART. 306. – Any person who has committed an outrage public decency and Islamic morals or has violated the sacred places or assists in the breach, will be punished by a sentence of between three months to two years imprisonment and a fine of 5,000 to 60,000 UM, if such action is not covered by the crimes of Ghissass or Diya.
